June 4, 2015

Winnipeg, Manitoba - WSA Winnipeg came from behind late in the home opener with the Springfield Synergy last night to snatch a 1-1 draw at the Winnipeg Indoor Complex before an enthusiastic home crowd. Two glorious close range chances early in the match by WSA all time leading scorer Moses Danto and rookie forward Tobias Hyrich-Krueger were turned away by Synergy Keeper Eric Drake. Back to back yellow cards by Aaron Badescu at the 29 minute mark brought the Wolfpack down to 10 men for the remaining 60 minutes. The Springfield boys took full advantage of the extra man and pinned WSA in it's own half for the final 15 of the first half outshooting Winnipeg 9-2 . Winnipeg Keeper Dylan OConnor came up big time and time again to holding the match at zero's in the first half.

The second half opened with the Synergy popping in a goal in the opening minute off a corner kick thatRoss MacKinnon eventually put away. The match remained close throughout the second half and Danto nearly tied it up when he broke in unapposed at the 80 minute mark but Drake again stoned him with the save. With time running down and the WSA boys pressing to tie up the game a long ball sent into the Springfield box by Braeden Hidalgo-Mazzei somehow managed to bank off WSA midfielder Jash Sangha into the net for The Winnipeg side.
