Wolf Pack get Chilled

WSA Winnipeg drop pair of games

Winnipeg, Manitoba

The Pack slipped into Thunder Bay last weekend hoping to build some momentum from their early season successes.  However it was not to be as The Chill grabbed all six point from WSA Winnipeg in the two game series.

WSA Winnipeg entered the weekend series knowing they were up against last year's division champions and knew nothing would be given to them. Friday's overcast game at Chapples Park saw the Chill take an early lead in the fourth minute with a goal by Intermoia. The Chill never looked back dominating the rest of the game and out shooting the Pack 12 to 5.  Goals by Declan Rodriguez in the 69th minute and Arturo Rodriguez Prat in the 90th minute sealed WSA Winnipeg's fate... a 0 - 3 loss.

Saturday's game ended with the same result as Friday's game, but the Wolf Pack played a much more intense game. WSA Winnipeg was able to hold the Chill to one goal in the first half by battling hard at every turn.  WSA Winnipeg goalie Partaker made no less than seven saves in the first half to help the cause.  The Wolf Pack's tenacity was maintianed in the second half, however a pair of goals a minute a part, one a penalty kick, shattered any hope of a comeback.

The Wolf Pack left Thunder Bay with no points, but gained an abundance of experience.  The Pack's schedule does not get any easier as they return home with two weeks to prepare for the league leading Des Moine Menace.
